This site is just a good place to store things I want to find again later, or where I’ve spent considerable time considering information that might be useful to others too.
I found this picture of my grandfather long after having purchased a restorers guide and several books on the Austin Seven, perhaps as diversionary reading to prevent actually getting my hands dirty. Having had a brief spell working on Classic & Sportscar and Autosport magazines after University, I’d had an interest in old cars since learning to drive.
An occasional Classic car newspaper and magazines a year seemed to halt any urges, until a late night ebay purchase…
While archiving some of my other grandfather’s cartoons, I came across this rather prescient image. A child’s car, but with Seven spirit!
I would be very interested to get one of the prints you found of the Peter Crosby drawing of the Richardson Railton.
Maddingly I am completely unable to find any information on R.L. Richardson, he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth after the Alpine Trial.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Jan R
